Check out Bensalem Business Directory member Kyle Ober’s photos from the 2019 Bensalem Fall Festival (below)!
Saturday, October 5, was our Celebration of Bensalem with the Bensalem Fall Festival. At the opening ceremony one our members, Mary Ann Griffin, was honored with an award for her service to our community as a volunteer working with all the nonprofit organization she works with. We know Mary Ann as the Relay for Life person as she keeps us updated on what the organization is doing. Reality is that is just one of many organizations she gives her time to since she has retired. We are lucky to have her as one of our members and so happy others notice her hard work in helping others.
I had asked for members to help my personal business Philadelphia Private Gym with our quest to help Bahamas in their time of need for Fall Festival. Golden Corral, Mc Donald’s on Street Rd, Ashley Thomas from Bucks and the City and Joe’s Steaks all gave us something to auction off to make money to send out to help. And Lynn Tarnowski from Philadelphia Christian Center, Kathleen & John Feliz client of Philadelphia Private Gym, Jodie Brown from Relay from Life and Brian Bielawski. All helped Marian & Jacobo Hajioannou at the Philadelphia Private Gym table at the Bensalem Fall Festival with a spin to win a dollar win a bag of candy or a special gift and made over $1,000.
It took a team of people to make that money, but we hope it helps the people in Bahamas a little. If you like to help you can contact Lynn at Philadelphia Christian Center here in Bensalem. She is our connection to helping others.
I was proud of the fact other members had tables as venders at the fall Festival. Mc Donald’s on Street Rd, Golden Corral, Night Owls, Inspire Federal Credit Union, Ricks Expert Tree, Bensalem Country Club, Remax, Insurance Shop, Relay for Life, B3T, Bensalem Lions, Philadelphia Private Gym, and I know I am forgetting others as I know there were more.
Now onto our Car Show that we ran and sponsored. Trifecta Sporting Club sponsored the coffee and donuts.
The Car Show shirts turned out great. Thank you to Mike Nerenberg from Main Event Advertising for designing them and handling it for us. He ordered the shirts from our member Allan at Prinfly and that is how we got them on time. It is a limited run of shirts and we do not have extras.
When I took on the responsibility to run the car show and sponsor it, I knew I wanted to have lots of people helping me do this. I had seen how in the past car shows that where limited on help had problems, so I wanted to always make sure I had more than enough people helping out. Most all of our members are business owners and should have a table in the fall festival to showcase their own business. To have them pick to help me run the show instead of promoting their own business is such a nice thing.
So, I want to make sure I let everyone know who they are. As most of them came out at 6:00 Saturday morning to help and some parked at the high school and walked over. I am so blessed to have members like this in our organization that actually care about each other.
Here are the people who helped with the car show in no particular order:
- Bill Sr. & Jr. Wasylenko from Mustang Stables * JUDGES
- Tim & Kim Suermann from Paychex *JUDGE
- Brian Bielawski from ARC Document Solution * Banners & Tent
